UFF Chatroom Based Rolefighting
![]() Chat room role fighting is something that's been lacking these days. A few people wish for the old days of role fighting and wish it could return to the old days where there could be a rolefight in the Jurai Arena. Many have tried, and they have failed. Perhaps this chance will fail too, but that is up to you, The person that is reading this now. I mean if you were not wondering about it would you of taken the time to read this?
So Tenko you're talking big again, and that ego of yours is showing. Call it what you will really but if anything you must admit what I propose 75% of the time end's up being interesting. The Schoolhouse while not used often is used still to this day. And odds are it would not of died if I would of kept it fresh. But I digress from the subject at hand here.
I'm sitting here and thinking what can I propose that's new? What can I propose that might be interesting? And then it hit me, why not try to get people back into chat based combat. Sure it seems silly to some, but after thinking about it, it could work if we put a few things in.
1) By joining this idea, you are not an official member of the UFF. This is not a UFF only event and you can fight anywhere or join any other fed. Although if you are a part of a fed and want to join, all I ask is you state that on the form. Anyone that wants to rolefight chat style is allowed to enter as long as they do fight. And understand a few of the basic rules. If you enter and fail to fight 3 matches then you will be kicked from the league.
2) We will have a group of judges here to make this work, and you will have to have a minor profile. It won't be detailed like the WFF one was, more like how the Twin-Star Competition form is. The basic form will be up if enough people want in.
3) The judge's verdict will be final although if a fighter wants and feels they were robbed two other judges will take a look at the transcript of the match and issue a verdict to the official judge of that match. The official judge of that match will be in charge of copying the fight. Every fight post will be copied and if this idea takes off I'll present the format the judge has to have for it.
4) Judges are free to enter the league too. But the rule for them is they can not judge their own match. So if you want to fight, then you must get another judge to sanction your match.
5) There will be a rule system for judges to follow much like the Budokai had rules, and the Twin Star has rules. This league will have rules too for judges to go by. It will be a point based system and I will go into detail more about them if people are interested in this.
6) Reason for a point-based system is cause I want to create a ranking chart for the people involved. This will help determine rank. Everyone that enters starts a number one in my book. After everyone that enters gets one fight in, I will update the ranks; the person that earns the most points will be in first, after that and everyone gets second same thing will happen. I will keep track of a few things for the chart and will explain more if this takes off. A fighter can earn a max score of 100 for a perfect fight.
7) A fight's Max time will be 1 hour. After 1 hour the judge will decide who won that match the thing I stated in number 3 would be applied if someone feels they were robbed.
8) Each fighter can have one handle in the league.
Now this seems like a lot to digest, and your right it is a lot. Why all the rules? I mean rolefighting is done for fun, and rolefighting really has no rules. This is true, but the fact is and most true rolefighters know it, that in the last year a lot of people have stopped chat-based rolefighting for a number of reasons.
1) No time to rolefight in a chat room due to the length it takes. Some take even up to 8 hours I have seen.
2) With people working and all that the UFF board is just fine for posting so they don't have to spend all that time in the chatroom to rolefight.
So why even bother making this league if a lot of people might not join it. I figure that a lot of people miss chat-based rolefighting. I see a lot of people saying how they wish it could be reborn. And one thing that is missing in rolefighting is well, a ranking to see who is "the best" Really there is no best IMO, but hell a chart will give the people with ego's a reason to show it.
So here it is people, here is your answer to chat based fighting, I have a basic system, a ranking system, a judging system set up and can be started as early as the middle of September. So I leave the fate of this idea up to you. The chatter, the rolefighters, the reason the UFF exists to this day. It's up to you if AE and chat based rolefighting happens again. So I hope you don't let me down. Remember this is a basic idea. Things will change and you're looking at the basic idea not the final one.
This is an example of a chart in the works.
![]() Notice that the max score is 500 points. That's cause the max scores per fight are 100 points and the number of fights in this group are 5. Hence the 500 point total next to the points section.
